This report, titled “Ethical and Legal Analysis Activities,” in conjunction with Milestone 2, which outlines the “Initial Ethical Framework for the Activities of the Project,” offers a comprehensive examination of the legal and ethical parameters that pertain to the EU-CIP project throughout its duration. The primary objective is to ensure that the consortium can successfully attain the project’s goals while remaining fully compliant with both legal regulations and ethical standards. The scope of these frameworks and requirements is extensive, encompassing fundamental rights such as privacy and data protection, as well as potential interventions in these domains, cybersecurity measures, and the safeguarding of Critical Infrastructures. It’s important to highlight that this report encompasses legal instruments on both an international level and within the European Union, specifically addressing the subject matter of our research. However, it’s essential to recognize that REPORT does not encompass research related to national laws. Consequently, consortium members must also reference and adhere to relevant national laws in conjunction with the legal instruments outlined in this document. This document serves as a concise resource for consortium partners, furnishing them with a brief overview of pertinent EU and international legislation concerning fundamental rights, the processing of personal data, cybersecurity, and the security of Critical Infrastructures. Additionally, it is intended for the European Commission to provide a comprehensive analysis of critical aspects related to these issues within the context of the EU-CIP project.
